Does my well water come from an underground river?
No. There are no underground rivers or lakes with the exception of areas in Florida and around Western Kentucky and other areas where caves are found. We get our water from an aquifer, which is an underground soil or rock formation that can hold and transmit water in sufficient quantities to be pumped and used as a drinking source.
