In 2015, BACOG partnered with Barrington Community Unit School District 220 to develop a program designed to introduce 5th grade elementary students to the source of the region’s water supply. The program includes in-class presentations, the video linked below, and opportunities to “skype with a scientist” and interact with area experts to answer students’ questions. Topics covered include the local shallow aquifer system, groundwater supply, water quality, wells, wastewater, sustainability, and government and personal action to protect groundwater.
