Perhaps the greatest benefit BACOG provides to its members and the region is the opportunity for true COLLABORATION

A number of characteristics, both natural and manmade, make the Barrington Area unique. These characteristics have combined to give local residents a strong sense of community, and sense of place, and have resulted in an ongoing area-wide focus on partnering to maintain the quality of life in this region for all residents.  BACOG works to bring our region’s leaders and residents together to capitalize on opportunities to collaborate.  For example:

  • Executive Board and Committee meetings provide a regular opportunity for the open exchange of ideas among our local elected leaders.  This atmosphere of camaraderie and cooperation routinely covers issues from road maintenance techniques, strategic timing for soliciting bids, and how to achieve operational efficiencies to upcoming community events and coordinating calendars.
  • Administrators’ Roundtables provide a regular forum for village and township administrators to introduce and discuss issues of local and regional importance, identify common issues, and share experiences with their fellow communities that are facing similar operational and financial pressures.
BACOG also actively seeks opportunities for our local government members to engage and partner with the numerous community organizations and businesses within our region.

We are stronger together.
