Our Mission: “To foster cooperation and strategies to address regional challenges and support the BACOG Comprehensive Regional Plan

BACOG began over 50 years ago, meeting for the first time on April 25, 1970, as an initiative to
ensure a thoughtful, coordinated approach to the region’s development. It has continued with a consistent commitment to preserving the balance of open space and low-density, sustainable development.

Today, BACOG operates as a voluntary council of local governments in the Barrington area committed to regional collaboration.  This includes cooperative strategies for legislative advocacy, education, building partnerships, and protecting groundwater .
