BACOG Honors the Region’s First Responders, Frontline and Essential Workers, and Government Employees During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Barrington Hills, IL – October 7.   Members of the Barrington Area Council of Governments (BACOG) unanimously passed Resolution #20-04 at the September 22nd Executive Board meeting, recognizing the region’s police officers, firefighters, hospital and medical workers, frontline workers, essential workers, and government employees for their unwavering service during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

BACOG is a voluntary association of elected officials that represents the Villages of Barrington, Barrington Hills, Deer Park, Lake Barrington, South Barrington and Tower Lakes and Barrington Township.  BACOG has a long history of regional collaboration, intergovernmental cooperation, planning and preparedness, and commitment to protecting and assisting the regional community and its residents.

The Resolution expresses BACOG’s support and gratitude to the many brave individuals who have risked their lives and health in order to maintain order within the community, protect the public, and treat and assist potentially infected people during the pandemic. “From the beginning of this crisis, these first responders have been on the front lines, keeping our communities and residents safe. Other workers have stayed on the job to provide for people’s basic needs like food, supplies and critical services to minimize the disruption caused by COVID-19. We owe them all a debt of gratitude,” said Janet Agnoletti, Executive Director of BACOG.
