The Comprehensive Groundwater Levels Monitoring Program was established by the BACOG Executive Board in November 2013.
It is comprised of three components:
- Baseline Report of Shallow Aquifer Groundwater Levels Conditions
- Establishment of Electronic Continuous Read-Satellite Monitoring Well Network
- Annual and 5-Year Reports on Aquifer Conditions and Groundwater Level Trends
Three wells were established in the monitoring well network through a contract with the U.S. Geological Survey. They are located on properties at the villages of Deer Park, North Barrington and Lake Barrington.
Live graphed information on water level readings in all three wells can be viewed at the Illinois US Geological Survey GW page, or by clicking on the example graph below.
